As a Teaching Assistant for the Design Realisation Module at a post-graduate level, I collaborate with academic Module coordinators to deliver teaching to enrolled students. I support seminar teaching in physical and online settings, give formative feedback, attend regular meetings with tutors, offer weekly office hours, and provide software demonstrations and support to students. Design Realisation allows all Year 4 students to consider how buildings are designed, constructed, and delivered. Students produce a report related to their design studio projects and addresses architecture technology, the environment, and the profession. This is explored through an iterative, critical examination and augmentation of the students' major Year 4 building design project. The module is evidenced through media, including drawings, models, diagrams and videos. The course runs concurrently with Design Studio and is supported by a lecture series, seminars, cross-unit reviews, and tutorials, with a Practice Tutor being allocated to each design unit.
Course Coordinators: Assoc. Prof. Pedro Gil and Assoc. Prof. Stefan Lengen
PGTAs: Farbod Afshar Bakeshloo (2022-23).
