Between 2018 and 2021, I worked as a teaching assistant in the "Design of Interior Spaces" at the American University in Cairo. This course has taught students the principles, theories, and history of interior design. It covered design communication and techniques for visual presentation. The main aim was to equip students with the tools to identify and understand classical interior design styles from different eras and locations and concepts related to colour theory, psychology, and phenomenology. By completing this course, successful students were able to gain the knowledge and experience needed to design spaces that cater to their users' needs, using space planning and interior design principles and elements.

My role in this course included giving one-to-one feedback sessions to students, marking assignments, reporting attendance, and giving lectures on presentation techniques.

Course Coordinators: Mohamed Noaman (2018-2021) and Aly Kandil (2018-2020)
TAs: Christianne Chackal (2018-20), and Menna Helal (2018-21)
